The Story Behind the Persian Tabriz Overdyed Hand Knotted Rug

Chobi rugs take their name from the Dari word for wood, after the earthy colours of natural dyes, and their designs come mostly from the Ziegler florals of 1800s Persia. This one has been washed down and overdyed in sage and olive, so its flowers survive only as soft shadows under a single, quiet colour, the way old patterns show through limewash. It fits under a coffee table with a three-seat sofa, or under a dining table for six.
