The Story Behind the Damro Hand Woven Wool Rug

A loop-pile rug is made by pulling the wool up into small uncut loops, which gives it the feel of a knitted throw instead of a cut pile. Here the loops are packed into rows that read like cable knitting, in undyed ivory wool kept in the sheep's own colour. There is no pattern to compete with the texture, so it sits quietly under furniture and softens a room with plain walls.
